Astolat is an Excalibur 36 designed by E.G. van de Stadt and built by Tyler Boat Co. in Tonbridge in 1965 and has hull number 27 (36 P27). Sail number 2240.
The first owner Bernard Buxton purchased a structurally complete yacht from Tyler, thereon had is own accommodation layout completed in Manchester. Astolat was moored in Anglesey until she was sold in 1972.
Between 1972 and 1975 Astolat was probably moored in Troon, Scotland.
In about 1975, having purchased Astolat, the second owners (2 couples) rebuilt the accommodation layout to their own design, and the yacht is attractively finished in Teak. It was berthed at Hamble.
In 1996 Astolat was bought by the current dutch owner and is berthed at Lemmer in Holland. Astolat still has the original MD2 Volvo Penta diesel engine (15.5 hp) and the original Sparlight mast with roller reefing boom and twin spinnaker poles.
